Once upon a time, a very strong lion saw a little cat in a big jungle. “He looks like a member of my race. Why is it that he is so small? Maybe something unpleasant has happened to him. I must find out the truth,” The lion whispered to himself looking at the cat unbelievingly. He called the cat and said, “ You look like a lion. Why is it that you are so small and weak?” The cat thought, “ If I tell him that I’m not a lion he will probably hurt me.” He then said, “ Yes, I belong to your family. I used to be a real lion!” Saying this he started crying. The lion sympathized with him. “ Just tell me what’s happened to you. I’ll try to help you. I’m the strongest creature in this jungle,” he said, showing off his muscles. The cat said, “ I was caught by human being. He tortured me a lot. I became weaker and weaker day after day. I’m now so weak that I can’t protect myself.” The lion became red with wrath and said, “ Shame on me that this should happen to a member of my family! Just show him to me and I’ll take a revenge.
The cat took him to a farm where a man was working. He pointed to the man and said, “That is the man who did this to me.” The lion walked towards the man and called to him angrily, “ Hey you! How dare you treat a member of my family so beastly? Why did you torture him so? I’m here to take a revenge on you.” The man thought a moment and said, “ OK. I’m ready to challenge you too. Let’s fight!” They got ready to start fighting, but the man stopped the lion and said, “ Wait a moment. You have all your power with you. Give me a chance to bring my power too. It’s on that old tree now.” The lion turned to the old tree nearby but he could find nothing on it. Then, he looked at his muscles again and said, “ OK. But don’t try to escape. I’ll find you anyway.” The man said, “ I promise not to escape because you can find me very easily. But what if you run and flee when you see my power?” The lion laughed and said, “ You’re kidding! Why should I flee? I am the strongest in this jungle.” The man said, “ I don’t believe you. I know that my power will scare you.” He continued, “ Let’s do one thing. If you are sure that you are the strongest, let me tie you to that tree with a piece of rope. I just want to be sure you won’t run away when you see my power.” The lion looked at his muscles again and agreed.
The man tied the lion to the big old tree tightly. He then cut a very strong branch of the tree and started beating the poor lion with that. He beat him and beat him and beat him. The lion had no way to either fight or escape. He was totally helpless. Quite miserably, he turned to the little cat and said, “ Will he be kind enough to free me if I become as small as you?” His voice was now trembling.
