i am very weak in English grammar so i am getting confused in the simple past and past perfect, is it necessary to be good in English grammar to learn Persian?

Re: lesson 28 useful drills, sentence 11: in your answer, you use the verb khaerab kaerdaen which I had understood to be intransative, e.g., to be used for internal malfunction of a computer. Sentence 11 is about someone actively breaking the computer, for which I had understood the transative verb shekaestaen was to be used?
