A: When somebody calls you, you may say Joon /ju:n/ or Joonam! /ju:næm/! Here, it means 'yes'.

B: When you use it after somebody's name such as Hassan Joon!!! Here, it means 'dear'. In this sentence, Joon is informal or friendly based. The formal one is Hassan Jan /ja:n/.

C: Joon or Jan /ja:n/ also means 'Soul'.

D: When somebody tries very hard to do something, or as we say it in English: He almost killed himself to do this job. For example: I almost killed myself to teach you Persian!! I almost killed myself to teach you Persian! /ju:næm dær u:mæd ta: behetu:n farsi ya:d da:dæm/! Listen!
